Well since we have been so bad at keeping this updated, we will just do the year in review :)
In 2009 there have been several things happening. We'll break it down by dog for ya!!
Ch. Copperhills Wanna B-A Hotshot "Brodie"
Brodie hasn't been slacking this year at all. He's been awarded several ASCA Best of Breed wins and finished his AKC Championship in style by going Breed over a VERY nice Specials Bitch. He was entered one day only at the Plum Creek/Colorado KC Cluster in February and walked away with Winners Dog and Best of Winners...Thank you Col. Joe Purkheiser for that, and for the huge compliment you gave us. Col. Purkheiser said that Brodie "was the finest example of a class dog he's seen in a very long time." Can't ask for much more then that.
Brodie has proven us wrong. While he didn't come home with any ribbons, he came home with the prospects of several girlfriends from the 2009 ASCA National Specialty that was held September 26 thru October 3, at Island Grove Park in Greeley Colorado.
Brodie was entered in the breed classes for three pre-shows and the National Specialty. Out of the 90 + males entered...we are proud to say that Brodie made cuts three out of the four times we entered in the rings. Cassie, as usual thanks for the fantastic job you did handling him and showing him.
We are excited to announce that Brodie's first litter will be hitting the ground around November 20, 2009. More to come when we they have dropped.
Mysharas Bringing Sexy Back "Justine"
Justine had a rough start in 2009. She was out of coat for the big February AKC shows in Denver so had to wait until March where she was entered in an ASCA show and was awarded her first ASCA Major under Klaus Anslem. Then in June, she was shown at the Flatirons Kennel Club shows where she was awarded her first AKC points under Linda Sparks. This little girl was on a nice role...then wouldn't you know, she was taken out the rest of the summer. The Southern Colorado KC shows will be her first trip back in the AKC rings since she blew her coat. We are hopeful that works out well for us.
She has gotten several Reserve Wins in both AKC and ASCA after only being shown limitedly. She's got some mighty big paws to fill with a mother that is a multiple AKC Best in Show Winner and a father that is a multiple ASCA Best in Show and Best in Specialty winner, and now her litter mate sister Beyonce, who won the 2009 AKC Aussie Nationals just before she turned 2 years of age, and moving on to go Best In Show shortly after she turned 2.
AKC/ASCA/CKC/INTL BISv Ch. Calais Country Hotshot of Carolina CD, STDs, CGC "Hotshot"
Hotshot is now officially RETIRED. His last show was the Veterans Classes at the 2009 ASCA National Specialty. He is 12 now and is loving the live of a couch potato!!
Check back as we will post our show results here and our exciting litter plans for 2010!!
